This was followed by flaugnarde (type of fruit pancake) or cherry gateau basque or French conversation tart (type of bakewell tart which dates back to 1770) with custard or ice cream. and a toast to France and its people (with a glass of Champagne of course!).

We were also honoured to have Senator Olivier Cadic join us and after the toast he did a terrific address on the Brexit calamity from a French perspective also giving us hope for the future
